De-Centralized Web Content Management System
siteyard is a Web content management system that operates as a staging server platform for dynamic delivery of content to the Internet or intranet server. Independent content providers can supply and update site content using only their version 4+ Web browsers (both Mac and PC platforms are supported) and require no knowledge of the site's HTML structure or coding requirements (design and content are maintained separately).
Administrators designate access rights based on content location to both groups and individual users. The system includes built-in workflow features, allowing content to be staged via several status indicators (Draft, Approve, Publish, Notification). Content can be targeted to specific areas of a page or pages using a component oriented structure; and individual components can be rearranged as needed. Other publishing features include time oriented controls for automatic notification of publishing cycles; a media archive that allows for the automatic update of modified media assets across all associated pages; and support for WYSIWYG creation of components via an extension for Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.
Administrators purchase siteyard as a single server license that supports an unlimited number of users. Additionally, multiple Web sites can be administered using a single implementation, (though additional URLs are priced at $7,500 each), with siteyard understanding and supporting XML, HTML, and WAP content delivery.
siteyard is expected to be premiered in early January (2001) and to be generally available by the end of Q1 2001. Pricing is set at $9,995 per server. Contact zapwerk for further details.
