SDL Tridion's R5 is a content management platform for global websites with multi-website management, translation options and static and dynamic web publishing features.

R5 provides centralized user management that can be integrated into an organization's existing corporate directory (LDAP, Active Directory and Windows Domain). R5 Content Manager uses a standard database as a content repository (Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Server).

R5 components include:

- Content Manager Explorer: Main user interface

- SiteEdit: WYSIWYG, browser-based interface

- WebDAV Connector: Access R5 content using Windows Explorer

- Word Connector: Open, edit, and create structured XML content using Word

- Presentation Server: Storage, link and cache management

- Dynamic Content Broker: Static (HTML, JSP, ASP and ASP .NET pages) and dynamic (HTML, JSP, ASP, ASP .NET or XML fragments together with a XSLT) web publishing
