Goverlan
Remote Administration Suite for Windows
The Goverlan product suite from PJ Technologies provide remote administration, management, and access tools specifically for the administrators of Windows-based networks. 5 individual tools are included within the full suite; two of the products (Goverlan Remote Control and WMIX) can also be purchased and deployed separately as stand alone products. The platform includes the installation of a central console (Windows 2000/XP/2003), and individual client agents (Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003) which the central console will deploy and install as needed.
Components of the full Goverlan suite include:
- The Goverlan Management Console provides the central component of the suite, and allows for domain account administration and real-time support, diagnostics and management of users and machines on both Windows NT domains and Active Directory forests simultaneously. The real-time administration feature, in particular, allows administrators to examine and configure client machines without completely controlling them (users can continue using the machine during diagnosis). Some of the available actions that can be performed by administrators include detecting a user's logged in computer, retrieval of computer system info, Wake on LAN settings, a "run as" feature allowing the admin to remotely run an app on the remote machine under a specified account, shutdown, logoff, or lock remote machines, and more. Additionally, Custom Actions and controls can be defined by the administrator and made available from within the Goverlan console.
- Goverlan Scope Actions allow for Enterprise-level machine configuration management; including the ability to modify user or machine settings globally using push technology.
- Goverlan Remote Control allows the administrator to control a single or multiple remote machine(s) using their mouse/keyboard.
- Goverlan Command Line provides a CLI interface and allows for the scripting of Goverlan actions.
- WMIX is a front-end user interface for Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) management tasks.
New features in the latest Goverlan release include a new interface with an MS Office 2003 look and feel; full WMI integration; the aforementioned Custom Actions; and new administration features including MSI package management, registry and file system management, group chat and instant messaging, advanced task manager, extended "Run As" capabilities and an IP scanner.
The Goverlan Remote Administration Suite is priced at $619 per console with no additional per-node fee. The Goverlan Remote Control and WMIX offerings--included within the full suite--can also be purchased separately for $229 and $69, respectively.
