DBLaunch
Automate Database Installations and Management
Deploy, manage and comply are the three main factors that DBLaunch brings to the database management environment.
DBLaunch follows a template based deployment system for all database servers. It provides the ability for a database administrator to define a template and then use that to standardize the deployment of database servers/instances automatically. By incorporating your current deployment scripts into the DBLaunch workflow the template based system allows you to utilize your current scripts as well as using the product's built in deployment templates.
Management of the database environment includes the scheduling of upgrades, hot fixes and configuration changes, which are also template driven. Use the Clone utility to apply your current setup and configuration of a database instances to new installations, allowing you to clone the configuration only or the entire instance, database(s) and logins to a new server. Setup your disaster recovery environment automatically with the use of the Log Shipping utility by scheduling multiple database migrations at one time by clicking the mouse.
Compliance features include:
- Schedule the automated modification of system administrator passwords and or accounts at the database server level and at the operating system level
- Audit your installations to ensure they maintain the latest patch levels required by your internal policies
- Audit your database access permissions across the environment, generating reports on various levels; from who has system administrator level privileges down to individual user access within a database
DBLaunch can be used to provision and manage database installations in virtual environments, allowing you to setup test and development environments with a click. Copy databases from production to your virtualized environment automatically, giving your developers the latest version to test or develop on and work through their upgrade processes.
