Genie IDE
Developer Tool For The Creation Of Voice Apps
Genie IDE is specifically designed for developers who wish to create voice access applications based on the VoiceXML language. In addition to multiple features assisting the developer in the actual coding of VoiceXML scripts, the Genie IDE includes file and project management features, including a "publish" feature that allows for the deployment of applications to remote servers, and a simulation feature based on the vendor's own VoiceXML Gateway that allows the developer to test the results of their scripts without requiring a TTS or ASR engine.
Available for Windows 2000 (the vendor states the platform may also work on other Windows platforms, but they have not been tested), key features of the IDE include automatically highlighted code syntax according to the user's own preferences; auto indentation; tag manipulation and efficiency tools including context sensitive help, insertion, and attribute editing (with valid attributes automatically displayed); and validation tools allowing for the validation of documents against their corresponding DTDs.
The Genie IDE is free and available now in beta to members of VoiceGenie's Developer Workshop (free registration). Contact VoiceGenie Technologies or visit the Developer Workshop site for further information.
