Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0
Digital Video Package Outputs RealMedia, Windows Media, And QuickTime
Adobe Premiere provides the Web developer with a digital video package that can capture video through built-in DV device controls; edit and manage the video through various tools including audio mixing, filters, and effects; and export the resulting video in a number of leading Web formats - including RealMedia, Windows Media, and QuickTime.
Through its direct support of Firewire/i.Link interfaces (IEEE 1394), Adobe Premiere is able to control and capture video from compatible devices directly, without the need for a separate video capture card. New editing tools include a multi-channel audio mixer complete with gain fade, and pan controls; a new "storyboard" window for the visual layout and sequencing of video elements, with an "Automate to Timeline" function that automatically transfers the clip sequences to the timeline on command; and an enhanced Effects Control Palette allowing for instant real-time feedback of applied effects in the clip monitor window. Additionally, new "Web markers" support lets the developer synchronize a series of Web pages to be retrieved and displayed at specific points along the video's timeline.
When completed, new Web export plug-ins support the storing of finished works in RealMedia, Windows Media, or QuickTime formats. In addition to exporting the entire video, the developer may also export only a specific clip or timeline segment in the format of their choice.
Version 6 of Adobe Premiere is now available and is priced at $549. Upgrade pricing is available; visit the Adobe Web site for further details.
