Mind-it for Webmasters
Offer Auto Change Tracking To Your Visitors
The Mind-it service, developed by Puma Technology, Inc (now known as Pumatech), allows site visitors to submit their E-Mail addresses via a "Mind-it" button on enabled pages, and automatically receive E-Mail notifications whenever the pages change. Mind-it for Webmasters is the title given to the program that allows independent Webmasters to place Mind-it buttons on their Web site. Originally offered as a free service by Puma Technology, Mind-it for Webmasters is now offered through Pumatech's wholly owned subsidiary NetMind Technologies on a yearly subscription basis.
In order to implement Mind-it buttons on their sites, Webmasters must first sign up for the service on the NetMind Web site. They then copy and paste a simple code block into the HTML of their site (or use the service's Integration Wizard) that allows users to enter their E-Mail and receive change alerts via the Mind-it service, which is hosted entirely by the vendor. With their paid subscriptions, Webmasters may place an unlimited number of Mind-it buttons on their sites. Multiple features are available for Webmasters, including weekly usage reports, the ability to target specific changes (i.e., alerting users to any change on the page, or just changes to certain areas or keywords), and the ability to supply customized messages to be sent to Mind-it users when the change notifications are sent.
In addition to the free Mind-it service for surfers (that allows them to select and automatically receive updates when pages they select have changed), and the Mind-it for Webmasters subscription based service that allows Webmasters to place Mind-it buttons on their site, Pumatech also offers the Mind-it Server for corporations, allowing organizations to implement their own Mind-it like functionality in their intranet or corporate networks.
Mind-it for Webmasters is available now at a price of $795/year. Introductory pricing is available throughout March of 2001.
