1stRiadaMelt is a Java Applet combined with a development environment that allows users to easily create text based fading/transitional effects for their Web sites. The development environment is Web based; however, the effects created for the Web site can be viewed in any Java enabled browser. The software is free but contains an embedded advertisement for Riada. Users can remove the advertisement by paying a registration fee.

1stRiadaMelt contains many built in transition sequences and colors, and also allows users to create their own. Messages can fade in and out horizontally or vertically through multiple colors; and can make use of common dynamic text features such as the current date and time as well as user specified background images. Specific text sequences can also be scheduled for certain days and removed by the applet automatically when they have expired.
