Fax Integration Platforms for Windows and Linux
Biscom's FAXCOM product line includes platforms and tools that provide for the integration of fax capabilities in both Linux and Windows environments. Among their current offerings:
- FAXCOM Suite for Windows provides a directory services enabled fax server for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Users are managed through Active Directory, and rights and permissions are administered through Active Directory Group Policy. FAXCOM Suite fax enables users and applications through Outlook, the FAXCOM Client, the FAXCOM Web Client, and APIs.
FAXCOM Suite for Windows features include: Requires no schema extensions; uses Active Directory or any other LDAP-Compliant Directory Service as a fax user list; MMC Snap-In to manage all aspects of the fax service, including installation and removal of fax queues worldwide from a single location; application redundancy by distribution of multiple fax queues; manage user attributes by AD Group Policy or FAXCOM Policy; send and receive faxes through an Exchange 2007, 2003, 2000 or 5.5 Server; Outlook integration without client software; desktop and Web fax clients; Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to fax enable business processes and applications; enable non-Windows applications and processes to access the fax service.
- The FAXCOM Linux fax server offers a turnkey fax system in a range of sizes, including large systems with up to 96 digital fax ports, and small systems with up to 24 analog or digital fax ports. Features include: Support for customer-supplied hardware (enabling customers to build the Linux fax server on the server hardware of their choice); multiple message delivery options, including the ability to specify that inbound faxes be delivered to a Host Port, a Host Session, an SMTP mailbox, an SMTP mailbox from an LDAP lookup, an FTP site, a File destination, the Quarantine mailbox, or Hang up; support for SAMBA (customers can configure the FAXCOM Server so that directory structures on the Linux fax server are visible to a Windows PC in the Windows Network Neighborhood); support for batch fax, hunt group sizes, receipt of a PDF, etc.
