OLfax
E-Mail-to-Fax Platform for Microsoft Outlook
OLfax is an E-mail to fax gateway with AVM FRITZ! for Microsoft Outlook networks. OLfax also works on a single computer without a network.
Each user is able to receive incoming faxes via E-mail and to respond to faxes via E-mail. If more than one telephone line is available for fax, different users can connect to different fax lines.
An integrated POP3/SMTP server allows usage of OLfax without having a separate mail proxy. If a mail proxy or Exchange Server already exists, OLfax can be configured to be a client of that mail proxy.
OLfax integrates into existing networks; it uses the standard protocols POP3 and SMTP for exchanging E-mails with mail clients.
OLfax can be used as a groupware solution in conjunction with AVM FRITZ!. You can send and receive faxes using an AVM FRITZ! at a server via E-mail and forward incoming faxes via E-mail. Features include: Forward faxes sent to a given MSN to a certain user; optional automatic management of its user accounts; fax templates for the automatic conversion of text E-mails into a fax containing company logo, address, E-mail etc.; and send faxes to multiple recipients.
Using the fax transport provider, the fax number in the Outlook address book can be used to send faxes in combination with a Microsoft Exchange Server.
When used in combination with the vendor's OLfolders (a separate product), all incoming and outgoing faxes can be viewed in a public folder.
OLfax supports QuickViewPlus for printing documents to the fax printer.
OLfax faxes can be sent and received not only with Outlook, but also with other E-mail programs, e.g. with Lotus Notes/Domino, under Macintosh or Linux.
