M-1 Server 2.0

Java Based Platform For Delivering Mobile Applications

An end-to-end 100% Java product, Aligo's M-1 Mobile Application Server provides a means for Java developers to create a single application using only Java code that can then be automatically delivered to multiple mobile devices. According to information supplied by Aligo, Inc., the M-1 Server "...supports all mobile devices..." and is able to deliver the developer's application in the size and format necessary without requiring the developer to learn the mark-up or inticacies of each individual device.

The M-1 Server is composed of 5 major components.

The PresentationEngine delivers the application to the mobile device, taking into account the device's capabilities, including screen-size, supported mark-up languages, and memory limitations.

The SessionManager provides a cookie-less method of managing a user's connection such that if the connection is broken the user can reconnect and continue where they left off.

The CacheManager measures the memory capacity of the requesting device, and splits content delivery between the client and the server; avoiding memory overruns.

The UnifiedMessageManager allows for the creation of single messages that can be delivered via multiple protocols, including SMS, fax, and E-Mail.

Finally, the DataAccessManager supplies independent "connectors" allowing for the integration of existing and back-end systems to mobile devices.

The Aligo M-1 Server is available now. Further information and a time-limited evaluation version of the server are available from the Aligo Web site.
