Canon VB101
Hardware Video Server Offers Remote Control To Viewers
The Canon VB101 network camera server streams live compressed video streams received from attached cameras over an ethernet connection; to the corporate intranet or an Internet Web page. The server supports up to 4 camera connections; when Canon's VC-C4 cameras (see related link below) are attached, two can be controlled remotely via viewers. Up to 20 users can view the camera transmissions simultaneously.
The server includes two PC slots that accomodate an optional modem and PC memory card. The server supports the transmission of video images via HTTP and TCP/IP protocols, allowing users to access images through the Web. Both a Java-based viewer (for accessing images through a Web browser) and a Windows based viewer (Windows 95/98/NT/2000) are supplied; and the unit's built-in Web server is also capable of serving Web pages with embedded images directly (when the optional PC Memory card is included).
Available as an optional software add-on package, the WebView Livescope MV (Multi-viewer) 1.0 provides for the management and control of multiple server deployments via the LAN. The system contains both the MV Manager for the template based creation of monitoring screens and multi-server management; as well as the MV Station for the actual viewing of multiple image templates created via the manager.
The Canon VB101 is available now, with a suggested price of $1,749. The WebView Livescope MV software is priced at $499.
