Ai3.6HD
HDTV-Ready Display Includes Web Browsing And E-Mail Services
The Ai3.6HD from Princeton Graphics is a Digital (DTV) and High-Definition TV (HDTV) capable set that includes built-in Internet services, including Web browsing, chat, and E-Mail. The device supports connecting to the Internet through ISP dial up (via a built in 56k modem), or always on connections such as T1, DSL, or Cable Modems via Ethernet connectivity.
The 36" display unit supports HDTV broadcasts up to native 720p displays via multiple inputs; including a set of 480i, HD, and RGBHV component inputs on 75 ohm BNC connectors. Additionally, the device includes inputs for the connection of an SVGA display (both Mac and PC are supported), two USB inputs, and a Serial input interface.
In addition to its HDTV features, the Ai3.6HD includes built in Internet functions through the incorporation of the Ch.1 Internet service. Ch.1 allows the set to operate as an Internet appliance; supplying common Internet functionality including Web browsing and E-Mail. These features can be utilized directly on the set itself, without the need for an additional PC or CPU. The set allows for separate TV and Web favorites to be defined for up to 5 individual users, with Web pages displayed on screen in 800x600 resolution. The box is controlled via an integrated remote/keyboard/mouse device.
The Ai3.6HD was originally expected to ship in January, and is now targeted to begin shipping on February 19th, 2001 at a retail price of $3,499. Contact Princeton Graphic Systems for further details.
