Topology Manager provides integrated auto-discovery, topology mapping, and root-cause analysis to give customers dynamic visualization, correlation and probable root cause analysis capabilities.

Topology Manager's out-of-the-box functionality allows organizations to automatically discover their networks, create dynamic topology-based maps, present real-time status indicators for each node, and perform connectivity-based probable root cause analysis (PRCA) providing downstream suppression. Additional base functionality includes device inventory information to act as a single, integrated information store for key information such as device information, interface information, IP routes, ARP table, VLANs, and CDP neighbors.

Topology Manager also breaks new ground by correlating the previously un-correlatable. Monolith supports the traditional IP-only capability set, and expands upon it with our hierarchy storage engine (HSE). HSE is a normalization engine for any type of topology - IP based, application, service, or SONET, made possible due to topology normalization and our generic topology stitchers which allow Monolith to take in data from third party systems and map object and link relationships to uniquely model previously impossible to see patterns. HSE also powers the platform's dynamic displays and various correlation components such as Event Manager's Probable Cause Analysis Connector Topology Manager's HSE and correlation logic is completely open, allowing your organization to adapt the logic to meet your specific needs.
